Aromatherapy Massage

Aromatherapy combines massage with natural essential oils for a sensory massage experience. While it isn’t typically tied to one goal, many clients come with the intention of relaxing in a calm environment. It’s a great way to get a bit of breathing space, away from the daily responsibilities of life. Sometimes, it’s simply about carving out a bit of tranquillity.

I keep the lines of communication open throughout the treatment. I want my clients to tell me what parts of the session they enjoy, and which ones don’t feel right. My goal is to shape your treatment to reflect your preferences rather than following the same routine every time.

Are you new to the aromatherapy massage? My companion guide walks through the oils I use and how the session works in more detail.

The Essential Oils I Use

I use a range of different essential oils in my aromatherapy massages, as different options create different sensory experiences. The most common oils include chamomile, eucalyptus, geranium, lavender, peppermint, and sweet orange. Scents are personal, and the important thing is choosing one you enjoy and that complements a relaxing session.

Sensitive to scent? Your Session Is Still Tailored to You

If you’re sensitive to smells, that’s absolutely fine; not everyone enjoys strong aromas. I can either choose a different oil or use less to keep the aroma subtle. Alternatively, I can leave the fragrances out of your session.

If you have had a reaction to an essential oil before, have a known allergy, or skin sensitivity, please mention this before we get started so I can plan accordingly.

What To Expect In Your Session

Massage is incredibly relaxing on its own, but adding essential oils changes the sensory environment.

When a slow-paced massage is coupled with gentle aroma, the session carries you away from your everyday life and provides added relaxation.

Your preferences matter when it comes to massage pressure and scents. I encourage you to tell me what you like and what you’re comfortable with so I can shape the session around your needs and preferences.

While your schedule may seem busy, setting aside an hour for yourself gives you a chance to step away from it at Rays Healing Touch and relax.
