Reflexology

Reflexology is a hands-on treatment that focuses on specific points of the body, typically areas such as the feet, hands and ears. Reflexology is a more focused approach compared with the broad massage movements typically associated with remedial or full-body treatments.

I can adjust the pressure throughout your session based on your comfort and preferences. While you sit back and relax in a comfortable position, I take your expectations and preferences into account. I encourage you to let me know how the pressure feels so I can make adjustments as we go.

Reflexology vs a Traditional Foot Massage

Reflexology does involve feet, but the approach to reflexology is different from a traditional foot massage. In traditional foot massage, therapists use broad movements across soft tissue and muscles to provide a relaxing experience. By contrast, reflexology focuses on specific reflex points with targeted pressure.

It’s a distinction that makes the two options feel very different. If you’re not sure which one is best suited to your needs and preferences, just give me a call to book an appointment, and I’ll be happy to discuss your options.

Your First Visit: From Arrival to Treatment

If you haven’t had reflexology before, you may be unsure what to expect from your first appointment. Let me take you through the process.

A Conversation Before We Begin

I always start my sessions with a chat about what you want to get from the session. I encourage my clients to share their preferences, anything that may be relevant and any prior experiences with reflexology or massage.

Getting You Settled

Before your treatment begins, I will help you find a comfortable position and explain how the session works. If you have any health concerns, injuries or sensitivities that could affect your treatment, please share them with me so I can take them into account when planning your session.

Working Through the Treatment

When you’re in a comfortable position, I will start with the selected reflex points, applying deliberate, controlled pressure. I don’t rush through a session; I pay close attention to the treatment and how you respond throughout.

Adjustments Are Always Welcome

I value client feedback. Whether you need to reposition yourself regularly or prefer lighter or firmer pressure, I encourage you to speak up at any point to make adjustments. My goal in every session is to deliver a comfortable experience where you are relaxed and present throughout.

Reflexology

Why Add Reflexology to Your Wellbeing Routine?

People turn to reflexology for a variety of reasons, but you don’t need to have a specific issue to enjoy a reflexology treatment.

Reflexology massage may be worth considering if you:

  • Enjoy treatments that focus on relaxation
  • Like having attention directed towards your feet, hands or ears
  • Want to experience something different from a conventional massage
  • Are on your feet all day
  • Enjoy making dedicated time for yourself
  • Are looking for another form of self-care to include in your wellbeing routine

My focus isn’t on a particular health outcome; it’s on providing a comfortable treatment shaped around your preferences.

Making Time to Pause During a Busy Week

When your week is full of work, family and everyday responsibilities, personal time can easily fall down the list. Sometimes, simply making time to slow down is valuable in itself.

In my reflexology appointments, I aim to create a comfortable, relaxing environment where you can step away from your usual routine for a while. It’s your opportunity to put your phone to one side and focus on the treatment. Reflexology can be an occasional treat or part of your broader wellbeing and self-care routine.

Could Reflexology Be Your Next Treatment?

If you enjoy calming treatments and you’re curious about a different approach, reflexology may be worth exploring.

It’s important to consider your circumstances before you book. If you have a skin sensitivity, injury, health condition, or you’re pregnant, please let me know when you make the booking or before your appointment on the day.

We can discuss your circumstances so I can take them into account when planning your session and discuss whether reflexology or another service may be more suitable.
